🥳 Love Them!! 💕
They’ve arrived… and I’m honestly so happy with how they turned out. They feel so much more professional in real life — the size is like Pokémon cards and they’re just… really lovely to hold. I’ve learnt so much making these. Seeing them as actual cards is a bit surreal. I only have around 50 available for now, as the rest may be heading to a big mindfulness & wellness festival (which feels very exciting 👀) I’ll share better photos soon, but I couldn’t not show you. Please share with anyone you think may be interested in them!

School Avoidance Isn’t Always Defiance 🏫
This week my daughter is building back up to school. We’re on three half days. And I just want to say something gently… When a child struggles to attend school, it isn’t usually about laziness. It isn’t usually about “not caring.” And it definitely isn’t fixed by pressure. Most of the time it’s a nervous system saying: “This feels like too much.” For some children (especially our deep-feeling, masking girls), school can be: Loud Socially exhausting Performance heavy Sensory overwhelming Emotionally unsafe They hold it together… until they can’t. Reduced timetables aren’t failure. Half days aren’t giving in. They’re scaffolding. If a child can attend and leave still regulated, that’s success. Not attendance percentages. Not catching up on worksheets. Regulation. And here’s the bit we don’t talk about enough — It’s hard on us too. It presses on our fears. Our identity as parents. The worry about “what if this continues?” But when we shift from: “How do I make them go?” to “What does their nervous system need to feel safe enough to try?” Everything changes. If you’re navigating school avoidance right now, you’re not alone here. Sometimes progress looks like three half days. Sometimes progress looks like just getting dressed. Sometimes progress looks like saying, “I’ll try.” And that counts. 🌿

Exactly, providing safe space is the best approach, all of the children i support are part time at school 3 hrs for a few days a week I have some students who have been stood down, suspended or excluded but with the right supports and services we see small gains lead to big ones . So many celebrations this week with students choosing increase school hours themselves, making friends and regulatiing more easily . When it’s too hard to be at school we wrap around other supports like an outdoor bush class once a week (they all love this) mentoring, private tutoring, swimming lessons etc these are not just gap fillers but scaffolding, and structured sessions to help our students regulate, transition, connect, socialise and be seen🙂 and give our families respite 🩷
