Hi. I’m Clare and I’ve been painting since 2018. I’m new to the art scene and I’m really looking forward to learning lots. I mainly paint portraits and love all things retro. Art is my happy place, I love creating it and seeing other people’s beautiful art.

Welcome Clare! For those reading, Clare is being quite humble - she was also the selected winner of our Studio on B award at Revival Art Gallery's 'Emerging Artist' Award. I know everyone would love to see some of your work posted here Clare!
Newbie Introduction
Hello everyone, I'm Paula but also go by my online handle of Paradoxis, or Para for short. Thank you for including me in this group. I'm looking forward to learning from fellow artists and sharing the journey with all it's ups and downs. I've been focusing on my art on a daily basis since 2018, and have built up quite a body of work. I've entered competitions and exhibitions all over Brisbane and have been featured in international online galleries as well. But I've gone as far as I can on my own. Now I recognise that I can't do it on my own. I can't learn or do everything by myself. I need help, direction, guidance. So finding the Inner Circle has been a godsend for me. A place where I can ask questions and learn. I want to take my practice to the next level. I'm not even sure what that entails, exactly, but it will be fun (and scary) to find out. :) Looking forward to getting to know you all, Paula aka Para.

Meet Annie & Charlie
If you joined us for this week's Inner Circle Live, you may've noticed a new face quietly appearing throughout the presentation. Meet Annie. Last night, Annie made her very first Studio on Brunswick appearance. She wasn't there by accident. Over the coming months, Annie will start popping up throughout SKOOL lessons, Inner Circle workshops, presentations, workbooks and resources, helping explain ideas in a way that's a little more visual, a little more memorable and, hopefully, a little more fun. But Annie isn't alone. Meet Charlie. Charlie represents the people we're all hoping to connect with through our work. Not "customers." Not "the audience." Real people. People with busy lives, families, interests, emotions and stories of their own. Together, Annie and Charlie will help us explore everything from creativity and mindset to exhibitions, pricing, marketing and building meaningful connections through art. Because the truth is... People rarely remember bullet points. They remember stories. Every artwork begins with Annie. Every connection begins with Charlie. Welcome to Annie and Charlie's world. I think you're going to be seeing a lot more of them. 💚

Art is such an adventure
Hi everyone, so excited to be part of this adventure. I am originally from Brisbane but have been on the Sunshine Coast for over 30 years. Currently I live on 10 acres (a small lychee and avocado farm) with my husband Don. I'm very fortunate to be surrounded by nature. I have three children and three granddaughters one of whom lives in Tasmania; I'm frequently in Tasmania. Earlier this year I retired from 25 years of science lecturing, before that was research. I have no formal training in art except high school and basic scientific illustration. About 7 years ago out of nowhere I painted a discarded kitchen chair with acrylic paint. It helped me in a time of deep grief. Since then I've painted 13 more discarded chairs. Now I am just finishing my first commission (small side table, pic 1) and working on Horse, a rescued rocking horse soon to be a side table. My work is full of organic forms, both real and imagined. When painting i get lost in detail which is my hope for the observer. Last year I created my website and instagram, had a chair published in an art book. This year I was a finalist in Visions earlier this year at Studio on Brunswick 🎉🎆. Woohoo! So pleased I discovered @Lyne Tilt and the gallery. Many, many moons ago I would occasionally have breakfast in the California Diner and dine at Giardenettos. How things have changed. Looking forward to meeting everyone and learning 😀.
