@Jessica Labetti 💛 What’s the Difference Between a Hearing Aid and a Cochlear Implant? For many years, hearing aids were part of my life. A hearing aid helps by making sounds louder and clearer so you can use the hearing you have. A cochlear implant works differently. Instead of simply making sounds louder, it turns sound into electrical signals that stimulate the hearing nerve. When I received my cochlear implant, I had to learn and adjust to hearing in a different way. It didn’t happen overnight. It took time, patience, and practice. That is something I want to teach inside Simple Steps with Steph. I want people to understand that hearing aids and cochlear implants are not the same—and everyone’s hearing journey is different. If you wear hearing aids, have a cochlear implant, are thinking about one, or simply want to understand someone you love, you are welcome here. 💛 We learn together, one simple step at a time.
