Reach Out With A Heart Filled With Compassion
A Kind Gesture…..What does that mean? …….. It will mean different things to each and every one of us…. A smile is a good place to start, it costs you nothing but it can bring joy to the receiver A Hug goes a long way and almost certainly brings a feeling of love, caring and support to the receiver A helping hand…maybe something simple as carrying the heavy shopping bags for a person at the grocery store, cleaning the windows or cutting the lawn for an elderly neighbour…. Giving a bag of essentials to a homeless person, not always money….but a toothbrush, toothpaste, some gloves, some soap, a small towel, sanitary towels, some socks, an old jumper, a warm hat…anything is good Just being there for someone…..no talking…just listening I hope you can hold out your hands to someone this weekend Namaste, with Love ❤️ Always Mark

Thank you @Mark Lawrence Stores, especially crowded ones, are a good place for this practice. When everyone is bustling around, trying to get around each other, lost in their own world, a smile can change the entire feeling, from adversarial to friendly. And the person's reaction can be funny - when they look up from their intended path and see you smiling as opposed to trying to get to the aisle before them, they usually kind of snap out of it and at least recognize "Oh, a friendly person".
Happy Birthday Sean

The Miracle of Being Present
One of our new members @Deleted mentioned in her introduction that she likes the teachings of Zen Master Thích Nhất Hạnh . I was blessed to have been able to meet him here in France at a Buddhist ceremony back in 2015 before he bacame ill. So in his honour here is a post of his core teachings of mindfulness, compassion, and interbeing. Thầy (as his students affectionately called him) taught us that peace is not just a concept, but a practice we cultivate in every step, every breath, and every word. May these posts serve as a small bell of mindfulness for you today. Mindfulness / "I have arrived, I am home" Have you ever eaten a tangerine so mindfully that you could taste the sunshine, the rain, and the soil that created it? Thích Nhất Hạnh taught that the greatest miracle is not to walk on water, but to walk on the Earth in the present moment. He often reminded us with the simple gatha (verse): "I have arrived, I am home In the here, in the now. I am solid, I am free. In the ultimate, I dwell." Most of us live in the shadows of the past or the hopes of the future, missing the only moment we truly have: this one. Mindfulness is the energy that helps us stop running and finally arrive. Today's practice: Wherever you are—sitting in traffic, washing the dishes, or walking to your car—take three conscious breaths. Feel your feet on the ground. Arrive in your body. You have suffered enough. It is time to come home to yourself. With Love ❤️ Always Mark

I often reflect on how blessed we are that Thay was here at this time when we are alive; that in 100 years people will consider him to be one of the great teachers of the past but we got to see him here and now.
