This is the way I look at it - we don't control our heart beating and pumping blood through our veins. We don't control our liver filtering toxins out of the body. We don't control our skin growing new layers. We do however, on occasion, control some of our organs, I.e. our lungs when we do breath work or meditate. The brain is also an organ. We have the ability to influence it slightly, just like the lungs. But complete control, no chance. There are so many things happening around us that influence the way we feel and think without even being able to recognize the brain is absorbing that information and responding to it. I have many other thoughts on this topic if you want to get on the phone again and discuss!
