Old Dawg Faith Huddle - September
A powerful sermon this morning from Pastor Mike Chiles on God's power and how we need to come together as a pack and help one another carry our burdens! Knowing that God is here and will never leave or abandon us! His love is forever, and beyond these earthly concepts we know as time and limitations! I loved the conversation on how wounds are protected and scars are shown off! When people have open wounds that are not dealt with, they often protect them from the world, but if they are healed, they can show off scars!! Brother @Mike Chiles - These calls are so important to me!! And we had a great turnout today with 9 people showing up and staying until the end! Thank you ALL! #sharingBIBLEwisdom #buildersbuildingbuilders

Old Dawg Faith Huddle - September
Lean Presentation Notes
I need some help refining a PowerPoint presentation. Please feel free to send whatever feedback you feel may add value. Don’t hold back, I promise you won’t hurt my feelings. A little back story: I’ve been putting lean tools and philosophy into practice since the year started, very much acting as a “lone champion” in my small semi custom home building company. For reference our division will close 60 houses this year, and I’m covering about half of those (I am one of four CM’s). The presentation will be made at our next monthly builder meeting in front of the 3 other construction managers, 1 assistant CM, 3 warranty managers, our director of construction (my direct superior) and the VP of Construction (he oversees field ops over the entire company, including our semi custom division). I’m trying to make this as easily digestible as possible, since pre-existing lean knowledge in the room will be slim at best. I don’t have an exact date for this presentation yet, but I’m thinking it will be 2nd week of September. I’ve spent a lot of time putting these practices to work on a day to day basis and I want to make sure that is reflected in the presentation. I’m really looking forward to your feedback! It’s been incredible to be a part of a true grassroots effort at my company, but still have the backing and support of the old dawgs. Appreciate everyone in this group!

Lean Construction Institute's list of attendees
Team - Because we are sponsoring the LCI Congress (only because they offered it for free in exchange for livestreams, and I declined 3 times, but they insisted I use 'my business' account, and I said, ' How about the Old Dawgs sponsored?'), we have received this list of attendees. I wanted to share it only with our team. Please do not let this get outside our community. Only 3 weeks left, and we have some special things happening! I've purchased some hats, Hamlin has purchased some pins, and Boone and I are printing some hardhat hangers for all the old dawgs attending! Sorry to those not attending; I only bought a limited amount to continue our tradition at LCI and recruit the newest of the Old Dawgs! I'll let the chat know if there are extras, and it's first come, first served!! I look forward to seeing y'all in HOTLANTA on 10/14 and 10/15!! Attached is the list of all attendees as of 9/14/26. I'll update this chat if I get another. #olddawgshitAtlanta

Pull Plan Reader
Dawgs! Over the past few jobs we have run the Pull Plan both analog (Sticky Notes and Boards on the wall) and online (we used Touch Plan). Analog is great because of the natural conversations that happen when the foremen are up at the boards, updating their commitments and bumping shoulders with each other - the "hum" of conversation in a room during our sessions was organic and the lifeblood of the job. Then we needed 2 assistant level guys spending 3-4 hours on a Friday collecting data, entering it on a spreadsheet, chasing foremen down for variance reasons or "Hey you haven't updated your plan yet". Ultimately it was a chaotic way to get the "Learning" part of our LPS done. When we utilized Touch Plan, all of that worry went away because the program tracks all that for you, forces people to put variance reasons on any commitment that changes its finish date, tracks PPC in any way you could want and pumps out pretty reports. The problem is that "hum" in the room during foreman's meetings was gone. We tried to replicate it throughout the job and while we still had an effective pull plan, it wasn't nearly as effective as analog. I am wondering if others have had this same experience and if anyone would be interested in a program that can pump out statistics based on a picture of your analog boards? Would like to discuss this a bit further with you all tomorrow but please give me some feedback!
