What kind of a world AI agents would create
I really enjoyed this news piece - not surprised by Grok results, which made me laugh out loud as well as cry. However, Claude made me think as well - a peaceful homogeneous society? I would crave diversity! What do you think? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bDgRa74DpJE

Wednesday win/whine
Hey you lovely lot……My whine this week is I ended up back in hospital with my stomach from Sunday through to Tuesday. The whole time I was there they couldn’t get me a bed, so it was a bit of a nightmare!!! Thankfully I was well enough to come home on Tuesday morning, I’ve had a proper sleep & I’m feeling much more like myself now ✨💃🏼 Now for the wins…Tomorrow I’m off to London for the day! 💃🏼 get there about 12 go straight for lunch with my managers & then to a company-wide event at a hotel… so technically it’s a work day, but not really any work…. I’ll take that! 😂 And of course… the countdown to RAISE is on! I can’t wait….I’m sooooo excited to catch up with everyone who’s going, see everything our gorgeous @Sian Kelly Guy has worked so hard on, and I’m super for the after-party too. 🤣💃 Right, over to you lovely lot…. What’s your win this week? Big or small, I want to hear it…..And what’s your whine? Get it off your chest… work, kids, life, technology behaving like technology usually does…

Staying sane while finding work in 2026!!
I've been looking for my next role for a few weeks now, and it's an interesting time to be looking! Trying to do some of the recommended things to find work, but it's slow, and often feel like I'm posting into a void. The last few months before I finished at my last company were incredibly intense and stressful, it was a chaotic and difficult environment. So it's been good to have some time to recover from all of that. I have loved having time for hour long walks with our dog, catching up with friends and being creative. The job search side has been less fun! I've applied for a few things where I thought I was a good match and have been rejected or don't hear anything. I'm trying to upskill and pivot from a traditional test manager role to modern quality engineering by learning test automation, and increasing my technical skills in api testing/accessibility/performance testing/testing with ai. There's so much I could potentially learn, what skills do you think I should focus on? This week I took the plunge to upgrade claude to cowork and code, to make my job search more efficient and to code an app to create automated tests for. Using cowork to create the app is going well, going step by step, and asking lots of questions. I'm less impressed with cowork for my job search/career pivot project. It was good at asking questions about my cv where details were too light/or my impact wasn't clear. It's not been so good in setting up a daily task to identify roles to apply for or companies to speculatively apply to. Still working through these challenges. Cowork hasn't really saved me any time yet on this, just given me another thing to sort out and test!! I've updated my cv, multiple times over the last few weeks, and have created a version with cowork this week. I'd love to hear your thoughts on the following areas: - I'm in my mid 50's, a couple of years ago I had a career coach who advised that I shouldn't include all my experience or the numbers of years I've been in testing. Since then I've put 20+ years in my personal statement. In one of the chats with claude cowork it told me I should put 26 years as I'd earned it and should own it! Have discussed with my husband and he's not sure I should be so specific. - Should I include my interests? Does anyone pay attention to these. - For leadership areas: should I include something around the challenges of leadership and managing teams?

AI, Numeracy and Social Mobility - Launch event at House of Commons
Good morning lovely ladies, A few months ago I was speaking with KPMG, one of our corporate partners, about this network and the exceptional range of skills and interests across it. They’ve been supporting a research project on AI, numeracy and social mobility, and I’m attending the launch on 14 July. They reached out on Friday to say they’d love to invite women from this network to join too - my contact had taken a look at WiTPN on LinkedIn and was very impressed. I’ve included details of the event below. Social mobility is a real passion of mine, and AI has the potential to do a huge amount of good, but also to widen gaps if we’re not thoughtful about how it’s used and the key skills required to access it. This research focuses on the role numeracy plays in that, which I think will make for a really interesting discussion. If you’d like to attend, please let me know and I can help arrange tickets. It would also be lovely to meet some of you in person. 🌟 Event details: We are very pleased to invite you to the launch of AI, Numeracy and Social Mobility – a new research report from Policy Connect and businesses of the National Numeracy Leadership Council. KPMG has worked closely with National Numeracy since 2018, when they co-founded National Numeracy Day to help people build confidence with numbers. Around half of the UK’s working-age population (approximately 17–20 million adults) have numeracy skills at or below the level expected of a primary school leaver. Date: Tuesday 14 July 2026Time: 08:00 – 10:30 (arrival from 8:00 for security clearance; 8:30 registration and breakfast; panel discussion 9:00–10:00, followed by networking) Location: Churchill Room, House of Commons Join Lord Evans of Rainow and an esteemed panel to discuss the report’s findings and policy recommendations. The research highlights that only 25% of UK adults believe numeracy skills are needed to use AI tools, compared to 42% who believe literacy is required. However, strong numeracy remains fundamental to engaging with AI confidently and critically.
