Speak and Write Arabic in 20 Days - Notebook-Only Video Course
Marhaban bikoum ya shabaab. I'm beginning work today on the 20 Day Modern Standard Arabic Video Course. 20 days, 30 minutes a day, using nothing but a notebook. The course is available now in the Classroom at its temporary price, and you'll also see that by upgrading to Premium Skool, you'll have unlimited access to all courses, past, present, and future: https://www.skool.com/linguablox/classroom Your satisfaction and success in these courses means the world to me because it allows me to shift focus away from Private Lessons, and work full time on producing Video Courses for you. So thank you all very much for helping make the Video Courses a success so far, and I am looking forward to seeing your progress in Modern Standard Arabic beginning today. Shukran!

If German had a bigger presence in my state, I’d get back in sync with that. I loved German, but have no real need for it.

How is the Spanish Notebook Video Course Going?
¿Cómo te va? Today is Day 17 of the 20 Day Spanish Notebook-Only Video Course and I wanted to check in and see how everyone is doing. What day are you on? Any questions? Comments? Feedback? Celebrations? Anything you'd like to see more (or less) of? Full Course: https://www.skool.com/linguablox/classroom

Finished day 15. Life has interrupted the last day or two, but it’s going well. I think inviting the student to copy what you’re doing keeps the student engaged. It’s a fairly simple system that is realistic, and I think that’s what most people want. Interesting Fact: Every one of my kids and grandkids learned how to tell me what they wanted to tell me before they ever stepped foot in a school building and before they ever had even one grammar class. Yet, I understood all of them. If they didn’t need or want to tell me, they didn’t worry about saying it. What grammar they did learn, they picked up instinctively from us. Is grammar important? At some point if you speak it long enough, sure, and kids will learn the actual grammar in school, but they already know how the language works before that happens. My point is, learn to say what you want to say. I think I’ve heard someone say that somewhere before, lol.
Post Spanish conversation class
I am curious. After we complete the Spanish conversation class, how do we build on the learning momentum generated by the class?

@Michael Marsh you could do what @Marion Tinsley recommended and Tony has mentioned and basically do a journal of your day. I do that a bit, but not enough. Por ejemplo, me desperté a las siete esta mañana. I got up at 7 this morning. Another help is to go through the subjunctive posts I posted. The phrases are everyday useful. Feel free to use the examples I put for your own and make up your own. I learned this from others but I plan on sharing what I learned by doing a weekly post on common sentence starters. Acabo de… is a common one. “I just finished.” Acabo de comer tacos-I just finished eating tacos. There are quite a few plug and play phrases you can use to say a lot of things. Hope this helps.

Many good takeaways. The one that sticks out at the moment is don’t say what you want to say. Say what you can. I can overcomplicate things once I get on a roll.
