Chloรฉ is truly fighting hard and trying to understand a body that doesn't always cooperate the way she wants it to. Luck definitely hasn't been on her side lately! Between a torn adductor muscle, inflammation of the pubic bone caused by overtraining ๐ตโ๐ซ, having to stop swimming breaststroke for 10 months, and an iron deficiency that we recently discovered ourselves despite regular checkups with her sports doctor ๐ค, the journey has been anything but easy. And when it comes to coaches and swim clubs... if some of them can even still be called coaches?! Every year there's a new coach, and after just a few months they already seem unmotivated. Some don't even attend competitions anymore. Clubs are struggling and facing serious financial challenges. Unfortunately, it seems to be the same problem everywhere. Of course, all of this affects her mentally as well. Yet despite everything she has been through, she still finds the motivation to get back in the water every day. Thankfully, because she needs something that challenges and stimulates her after school. School itself is almost too easy for her! At least there is one area of her life where things come naturally ๐๐ We have both learnedโshe and I (and Dad too, of course)โthat this is a lesson in life, not just in sports. After every peak comes a valley, and sometimes climbing out of that valley is much harder than reaching the top in the first place. You have to learn to adjust your goals, accept where you are, and take things one step at a time, rebuilding your way forward. I am incredibly proud of her. She never gave up, never threw in the towel, and continues to fight. Sports are only one part of life, but the challenges she is facing today will undoubtedly help her navigate and overcome the challenges she will face as an adult. Keep going, Chloรฉ. โค๏ธ Oh, I forgot to mention that you David and Yul are part of the sunbeams in this story ๐๐คฉ๐ฅฐ
