Some damn sounds!
Wanted to get a little more familiar with some of the presets in Exaktlite - got some jungle goodness going on here. I'd like to keep working on this track but wanted to share what I've got so far. Download links for this free plugin are in the pinned posts, go grab it! Edit: I mixed this and arranged it slightly for a version I like better :-)

@Allan Hughes I will often write a basic rhythm in a drum kit plugin, or a drum machine, then edit that rhythm throughout the song to taste. Later, I will split each drum into indivdual tracks for mixing purposes. So I start with it all in one place for convenience, until it's all written out, and I'm ready for mixing. I'm not sure if that is something that might be helpful for you.

@Allan Hughes No problem. I got you brother.
Challenge #1 Submission
I liked some of the presets of Exakt Lite a lot, but as I played around with it, I found it kind of glitchy when it came to loading and searching the presets. Also I found it a little limiting to control the sound. Some of the presets have annoying tails of white noise that I couldn't seem to find a way to remove inside or outside of the VST. My submission is a 90's Drum and Bass track. A nod of the head to Dillinja & Lemon D (jazzy and Grimey all in one). It was fun to make, but I had to break a few rules. Sorry @Zach Burger @Skyler Newsome. I brought in a piano. And the rides for the synth drums were awful, so I brought in some others. Also I techically wrote in 170 Bpm and it's 1:48 long.

@Zach Burger I reposted after turning the piano up a bit and the snares down a bit. In the 90s, loud, grimey, crunchy, over compressed drums was the trademark of good drum and bass. The modern stuff feels almost like pop music to me. Still good, but very different than what I'm used to.

Some info (as requested ๐Ÿคฃ)
Hi musical community, here is a bit info about me, and the stuff I am doing. (I hope this is alright like that..).. Coming from a classical education in violin, 1 1/2y in the age of 10 playing piano, then I plyed drums with 14. Then self learned guitar, 10 years concerts in a band in pubs during my studies. The I started piano more seriously, especially BoogieWoogie. I played in many bands, even in a great 60th garage Punk Band in Hamburg, northern part of Germany.. Whatever sounds nice, and whenever the people/colleagues are nice ๐Ÿคฃ.. As I grew up with Computers such as Sinclair Spektrum or ZX81(who still knows this one??), I came to music technology with my Atari ST with a MIDI interface. After my studies I joined the Fraunhofer Institut (where my new bosses already had invented MP3 ) where I worked 9 years in the field of audio coding, MP3, AAC. AAC Low delay and such topics. Great time. I am away from coding Assembler now๐Ÿคฃ. Now I do something different, but have my own "Tone Studio". I am heavily in production, composing (everything what the community here does as well) in my spare time besides family, job.. (you know what I mean I guess๐Ÿคฃ๐ŸŽน) Marketing of my stuff is still too little, but I created a live performance and do give concerts with Computer, Ableton and an own light installation live on stage.. Great fun. In parallel to studio work. Here you can check out my own tracks: Https:/linktr.ee/reinfriedb any feedback always appreciated.๐Ÿ˜€๐ŸŽน. Insta is mostly up to date.. I am interested in workflows, such as playing live with computers, effects.. or production hints, new effects, anything.. Always trying to get better. If I can help somebody out, any time..๐Ÿ˜€just reach out to me.. Hope, this is alright so far, Kind musical regards, Reinfried

@Reinfried Bartholomaeus That's a pretty cool musical journey. I wouldn't be surprised if it is quite similar to many of the members here. I know I personally have bounced around from instrument to instrument, and genre to genre. Glad to have you with us!

Just downloaded Exakt Lite for the Beat Blitz
This one looks interesting. I'm curious to see where this one will take me for this challenge. New sounds can sometimes really get my creative juices flowing.

@Zach Burger I understand why you went for a drum and bass song. I'm playing around with a 90s DnB (Dillinja sound). But I may try something else too.
