So, with that in mind, I created a free platform called membershipcollab.com that can help you all better connect with other students in this community for collaboration! In my opinion, collaboration is the #1 way to help increase your skills and grow as a musician, engineer or producer. The new membershipcollab.com platform is a tool all of you can use to connect and work on projects! 1. Create a free account on membershipcollab.com. 2. From there you can post projects and list the roles needed to complete the project. 3. People can apply to work with you or you can search for people/skills to find collaborators. 4. If you're in a paid membership you can always bring these projects to the mentors for extra help. 5. I will create a post at end of each month where we can highlight everyone who completed a project that month. 6. As a community we can give some support to these projects :) It should be a good time! One of my artist clients and friends, @Canyon Cottle, just released his debut album, and it’s been about a year in the making. I met Canyon at a local open mic back in my hometown and was immediately struck by his songwriting, voice, and sincerity. At the time, he didn’t even have music on Spotify yet, and now here we are with a full album out in the world. This project has been a joy to work on. Canyon takes his craft seriously, puts in the work, and genuinely loves making music. He’s got big goals of touring, traveling, and continuing to grow as an artist, and this release is a huge step in that direction. If you’re into mountain folk / indie folk-pop vibes, I think you’ll really enjoy this one. And more than anything, I just want to give Canyon a public high-five because writing and recording an album is not easy, and seeing it through to the release takes commitment and heart. Hey everyone, for those of you in Premium and VIP, the weekly music composition class will resume next Wednesday, the 21st, at 7pm EST. We will be going through a new and improved 6-week course, learning about music composition, arranging, scoring, and sync licensing. And after those 6 weeks, we'll continue with a weekly call for music composition feedback and practice sync briefs for you to build up your personal music catalog. We had a lot of fun doing this last year, and I'm excited to start it back up with you all again soon. Cheers!

For those who don't know, for the last 6 months or so I've been hosting weekly Music Composition calls on Wednesday evenings for Mastering.com Members. We went through a 6-week course that taught music theory, composition and arrangement concepts. After that, the students wrote to practice sync-briefs and shared their work in the calls for feedback. It's been a fun experience watching everyone in the course learn and up their composer chops, and learning from / collaborating with each other. With the holidays coming up, I'll just be doing one more of these feedback calls to wrap up for 2025, and will start them back up again in mid January next year. Thanks to all the peeps who have been coming to the calls and helping each other learn and grow. P.s.
