4 contributions to catknows. - The Skool MCP
🚨 IMPORTANT Fundamental & Important Shift
Yesterday’s meeting was not a regular update. It was about core technical, legal, and ethical decisions that define how catknows. will work going forward, why this benefits every tester, and why this is the safest and most future-proof solution for everyone involved. 🚨 Please take a moment to read this carefully it’s essential for understanding the next phase of catknows. 🧠 How catknows. Worked Before (Technically) Previous approach (Admin Method): - We used a catknows. admin account inside your communities - This allowed us to: fetch community data for you store it on our side structure and analyze it and visualize it on cat-knows.com - This worked technically but it came with serious downsides. ⚠️ Why This Approach Was Risky Two major factors collided here: 1️⃣ Skool’s Legal Framework According to Skool’s Terms of Service & Acceptable Use Policy: - ✅ Community owners may use their own data - ❌ Using data commercially is restricted - ❌ Large-scale, automated data extraction(bots, scrapers, crawlers, cross-community fetching) is not allowed ➡️ The previous setup lived in a legal gray zone — often tolerated, but never guaranteed or controllable. 2️⃣ EU & Data Protection (especially Germany) - DSGVO / GDPR - Data security & liability - We would have been responsible for: storing sensitive community data securing it legally and technically carrying the full risk Honestly: This didn’t feel right to us. Not legally and not ethically. 💡 The Core Realization We identified two fundamental problems: 1. Data collection via the admin method 2. Data storage on our side Together, this meant: - potential ToS conflicts - massive legal overhead - and most importantly: risking your trust And that led us to a simple truth: The motto should always have been: “Your Community – Your Data.” 🚀 The New Solution We rethought everything structurally, not cosmetically. catknows. will become a locally installed software

@Niklas Schröer 👏🏻 Nice! Sorry I'm just playing catch up, but yeah this is great. Here you only mention Skool Group Owners, but could members use the tool as well? How much of the community data would they be able to access? Could I pull all of my personal data from across multiple communities? That would be useful too.

@Niklas Schröer Makes sense. V2.0 Keep up the good work. Thanks for replying. Happy holidays
❤️ catknows. Update - Thank You for Shaping the Direction With Us
Hey everyone 👋 Yesterday we had another one of our feedback & roadmap calls, and once again you helped us steer catknows. in the right direction. Originally, we expected to talk about the daily action items report — a static report we planned to generate for you each day. But throughout the conversation, thanks to YOUR insights, it became clear that this is not what you need right now. You don’t want something static or inflexible. You want something dynamic, personal, and adaptable. So of course, we’re adjusting. And honestly? Your input helped us find a much more elegant and efficient way to approach this ✨ --- 🚀 What’s Coming Next Week --- For the upcoming week, our main focus will be a simple member dashboard on cat-knows.com which we can then adjust and grow along the way. This dashboard will allow you to: - Explore your members with powerful filters - Answer the questions that matter most to YOU (requires your feedback to make us build the filters) - Understand your community on a deeper, hooman level Additionally, we’re working toward enabling you to set your own daily reports so you can choose the data you want to receive, at the intervals that fit your workflow. With this direction, we’re not just solving one problem… We’re solving several at the same time in a cleaner, smarter way while also giving you something to play with. 🙏 A Huge Thank You @Marvin Knapp and I want to say thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Your continuous participation, your trust, and your thoughtful feedback make catknows. what it is becoming. Without you, none of this would be really possible, at least not at this level. And because respect and loyalty matters, we removed those who didn't participate at all! You all deserve recognition for showing up despite busy schedules, personal lives, and community responsibilities. THANK YOU for giving us a piece of your time and your trust! 💛 🌟 Looking Ahead

@Tommy Gan Oh good 👏 I'm glad to see you got your onboarding call knocked out and are taking advantage of getting in on the ground floor of this.
🧠 Tonight’s Beta Call & Info
Hey everyone 👋 I’m really excited to finally give you a first real look at what we’ve been building with catknows. Up until now, most of you only know the idea. That we want to help community owners understand who their members really are. Tonight, you’ll see the first mock report and interface drafts that bring this idea to life. 🐾 💡 Why we’re building this The whole idea started because I wanted to answer some simple questions for my own communities: - Who’s actually active and where? (skool vs. my community) - Who’s fading or just watching silently? (just likes "lurker") - When are most members online? (post timing) - Which posts perform best and why? (content performance) These are questions every community owner should be able to answer because you all technically have the data available. By turning your community data into clear, hooman insights, we can finally make your community work more precise, relational, and effective. It’s not about churn rates, LTV and all that other "useless" fluff data. It’s about understanding your peeps and using that knowledge to build and strengthen real connection. 🧩 What you’ll see in the screenshots The mock-ups show some of the first reports and dashboards we’re experimenting with: - Members: who was active in the last 7 days and how they engage (posts, comments, likes). - Reminders: who you haven’t talked to recently, and who joined recently. - Community Insights: daily activity, top posts, engagement trends, and when your members are online. - AI Recommendations: automatic suggestions for what to do next (who to re-engage, when to post, how to grow connection). These are early versions — purely conceptual — but they already hint at what catknows. will make possible. 📅 Tonight’s Call Agenda (60 min) 1️⃣ Introduction – The idea, the vision, and why we’re building this. 2️⃣ Demo – Walking through the mock report & interface. 3️⃣ Q & A – Open discussion, ideas, feedback, thoughts.

Wow.😻 Y'all are really on to something here. Who knew? 😼
👀 Looking for Beta Testers
Hey friends 👋 @Marvin Knapp and I built a new tool for skool called catknows 🐽. It helps community owners really understand their members. Not just who churns or how much you are growing your "business", but who’s actually keeping the community alive. We’re opening a small beta (max. 10 people) and giving testers: 💡 free lifetime access to catknows. 💬 a chance to share feedback and help shape the product. If you’re already in here and know other active skool community owners who might love this, tag them below or DM me — we’d love to help good skoolers understand their communities.no
