I just made some minor upgrades to the course, including pointing folks to this thread to share exercise notes, final assignment(!) playlists or whatever comes up related to the course. All in one place. Speaking of... @Francy Figueroa shared the below in a great post and I am putting it here as well. If I had gold stars to give out, this would be it : ) exploracion sonora primeros ejercicios introduccion En esta exploración sonora, cada pieza me llevó a un lugar distinto: Ritual Coreocaro (Ayahuasca) Me conecta profundamente con lo ancestral. --- Sound Exploration First Exercises Introduction In this sound exploration, each piece took me to a different place: Choreocaro Ritual (Ayahuasca) It connects me deeply with the ancestral. I feel a call to return to the earth, to the roots, to the essential. It inspires me to let go of control of the body and allow it to move freely, as if remembering an ancient language. Ceremonial (Hybrid) Here I perceive a more collective energy. It gives me the feeling that we are a universe, that we are woven with each other. It inspires me to share, to open myself to the encounter with others and to sustain a common intention of healing.

¡Gracias por compartir cómo diferentes expresiones de la música medicinal actúan en ti! ¿Tocas y cantas? Me encantaría escucharlo.

Translation of @Francy Figueroa s post, which is part of an exercise in the Medicine Music 101 course ) Sound Exploration First Exercises Introduction In this sound exploration, each piece took me to a different place: Choreocaro Ritual (Ayahuasca) It connects me deeply with the ancestral. Modern Genre Aya Shaman's This sound I perceive as more synthetic. Although I find it interesting, I notice that for me the visual and energetic connection with people and instruments is important. I really value seeing that living interaction, that presence that is generated when someone creates music from their body and their feelings. Taken together, this experience allowed me to recognize what kind of connection I seek in music: one that brings me closer to the organic, the human, and the deeply rooted.

Oh... Watch out for the bright blue light flying Friends at night Or you might get zapped away Heed what I say and you very well may Be blessed with enjoying another day Oh... Decomission disarm dismantle Before it's too much too late We cannot afford such an astronomical Catastrophicality Oh... 'Love one another as I have loved you' Is the 11th Commandment hardly anyone seems to do anymore Hearts are like Minds are like parachutes are like Eyes are like doors They work when they're open as that's what they're for Oh... We know that Animals don't want us to eat them For every time we try to they run away And we know that Plants do want us to eat them For we don't have to end them and they surround their babies with tasty nutritionalities Oh... Woohoo hoo ooowoo hoo oowoo oo woo oooooo Woo oo oo hoo oo woo oo oo woo oo Oh... Whistling... Soprano Ukulele (though will have to look up the cords). Blessed with this song walking around in the night at the edge of 'civilization' waking in the Dream while turning around to 'get back to the Garden'. 1st posting of me playing an original (or any) song, and have RARELY played Music around others or videod my playing. (A few hours busking a few months ago to check it out, a couple times for Mom and once for Mom & Dad, two songs with one of my Sisters, once for a lifelong best Friend and that's mostly it, so far.) Since my religious and political views are as follows... I view religions from within & I view politics from afar ...this song is sharing my awakening, more than anything else. Excited to see how well Cantos Medicinas may be played with Ukulele, as well as for the time when I will have a Guitar to learn them without inter-instrumental-transliteration. Have other songs to share that may be closer to being considered as Cantos Medicinas, though this is a quick one which I don't have to read the words from paper, and it is still blossoming. I am grateful for this space, community, chance and the encouragement to musically share that which is nourishing with others.

Singing through joy, pain, and healing
Good morning, I am one of the best shower singers you will ever meet. But seriously, I would like to find a use for my voice.

Permission is overrated. Just use and share your voice, no need to wait till you find a use for it.
