This is right up my alley. I have been doing Full and New Moon reading for several years. I have been working on creating a set of readings mapping the New and Full Moon themes to the zodiac signs as well.

It would seem that the this is the case of one person leaving all the work to the other and hoping to ride the coat tails to the end. The Eight of Pentancles is the perpetual teacher's pet. They are always ready to show off their new skills. The problem here might be that they have been paired up with the boses kid. They are a lowly worker and although they are great at their job, they have no ability to reign in the slacker. Now the Chariot, they might be torn. They have earned the reputation of being the bosses kid and knows that others seem them as priviledged. They have had no reason to put their time and effort and tend to just let the others do everything and then step in and take the glory. This time, the Chariot is torn. Maybe they have a crush on the Eight of Pentacles and want to make a good impression. Because they are stuck between their reputation and wanting to get the Eight of Pentacles number, they are so torn that they keep messing everything up. Of coures, in the end poor little Eight of Pentacles gets blamed because they got so worn out during this job project that they ended up with the flu and were unable to complete the project as they were home sick and the Chariot had no idea how to finish so when facing daddy dearest, they froze and let daddy blame the Eight of Pentacles.

What I pick up on the images of the two cards is that the first one seems to be using a lot of energy to ruminate on what has happened where the second seems to be lost in the middle of a journey.
