Everything that dropped this week in AI (April 2026 recap)
okay this was probably the biggest week in generative AI this year. let me break down everything that matters for us as creators 👇 — 🖼 CHATGPT IMAGES 2.0 JUST DROPPED (3 days ago) OpenAI released GPT Image 2 and it's a massive jump. The biggest upgrade: text rendering inside images is now near-perfect. Menus, signs, UI screenshots, product labels — it actually spells everything correctly now. Why this matters for us: you can now generate thumbnails, social media graphics, product mockups, and promo images with real readable text in them. No more garbled AI text. It also has "thinking capabilities" — it can search the web, create multiple images from one prompt, and double-check its own output before showing you. Available to all ChatGPT users (free and paid). Paid users get more advanced outputs. API version is called gpt-image-2. — 🎬 KLING 3.0 — NATIVE 4K VIDEO FOR $0.50/CLIP Kling upgraded to version 3.0 with native 4K output. Not upscaled — actually generated in 4K. At roughly $0.50 per clip and plans starting at $6.99/month, it's the cheapest high-quality AI video option right now. Also added: multi-prompt generation (different instructions for different parts of the same clip), dual audio inputs for layering dialogue and ambient sound separately, and improved motion quality for human subjects. If budget matters and you're doing high volume content, Kling 3.0 is worth testing alongside Seedance. — 🍌 NANO BANANA 2 — NOW EVEN FASTER Google launched Nano Banana 2 (Gemini 3.1 Flash Image) — combines the quality of Nano Banana Pro with the speed of Gemini Flash. Translation: same quality we love, but way faster generation and editing. And it's free in Google Flow with zero credits. New features: → precision text rendering (like ChatGPT Images 2.0, text in images actually works now) → real-time web search integration (can pull reference info while generating) → subject consistency across multiple images → now available in 141 new countries Also: Google added Nano Banana-powered personalized image generation to Gemini. If you connect your Google Photos, Gemini can generate images using context from your own photos and preferences without you having to describe everything. Pretty wild.

AI video update: everything that changed this month (April 2026)
A LOT happened in the AI video space this month and most people missed it. here's the quick rundown of what matters for us as creators 👇 — 🔴 SORA IS DEAD OpenAI is shutting down Sora on April 26. That's in 5 days. The app and web interface go offline permanently. API access stays until September but the product is done. Why? It was losing money — reportedly $15M/day in compute costs against only $2.1M in total lifetime revenue. The math never worked. If you were using Sora, migrate now. Seedance, Kling, or Veo are your options. — 🟢 ALIBABA DROPPED A BOMB: HAPPYHORSE 1.0 Alibaba quietly released a model called HappyHorse 1.0 on April 7. Within 3 days it hit #1 on the video leaderboard, beating Seedance 2.0 by the biggest margin in leaderboard history. It processes text, image, video, and audio ALL in one pass (most models do these separately). The lip-sync accuracy is insane. Not publicly available via API yet, but watch this one closely. — 🔵 SEEDANCE 2.0 IS NOW IN THE US Big update — Seedance 2.0 is now rolling out in the US through CapCut. Previously it was blocked there. But there are restrictions: no real-face image-to-video, no unauthorized IP generation, and all output gets invisible watermarks. For those of us outside the US, nothing changes. Sjinn AI and Dreamina still work the same way. — 🟡 KLING 3.0 IS THE BUDGET KING Kling 3.0 launched with native 4K output at roughly $0.50 per clip. That's the cheapest high-quality option in the market right now. If you're doing high volume content and budget matters, Kling 3.0 is worth testing. — 🟣 VEO 3.1 GOT A FREE TIER Google quietly added a free tier to Veo 3.1 through Google Vids: 10 clips per month, 8 seconds each, 720p. Not amazing specs but it's FREE and it's Google quality. Good for testing and experimenting. — 📊 THE BIG PICTURE Stanford's 2026 AI Index says generative AI has hit 53% global adoption in just 3 years — faster than the PC or the internet at the same stage. 70% of companies are now using it in at least one function. This isn't "the future" anymore, it's happening right now.

real good result! what is this niche about?
The only AI tools you need in 2026 (stop wasting time on the wrong ones)
Based on your comments from my last post — a lot of you are confused about which tools to actually use right now. totally fair, there's a new tool dropping every week and it's impossible to keep up. so here's my honest breakdown. these are the tools I actually use daily, not sponsored, not affiliate links, just what works: — 🎬 VIDEO GENERATION (the big one right now): Seedance 2.0 — this is king right now for cinematic AI video. nothing else comes close for action scenes, character consistency, and following complex prompts. how to access it: → Sjinn AI (sjinn.ai) → Dreamina / CapCut (dreamina.capcut.com) → Higgsfield (higgsfield.ai) Kling 3.0 — solid second option. good for simpler animations. more forgiving with prompts but less cinematic than Seedance. But still super good. — 🖼 IMAGE GENERATION (for start frames + thumbnails): Nano Banana 2/Pro (Google) — my go-to right now. incredible quality, free to use, great for creating start frames that you then animate in Seedance. Leonardo / Midjourney — still work but honestly falling behind the newer models. if you're still on these, try Nano Banana and compare. — ✂️ EDITING: CapCut — free, does everything you need for short-form. add sound effects, transitions, text overlays. that's it. you don't need premiere pro for this type of content. — 🤖 PROMPTING (where most people mess up): ChatGPT or Claude — use these to WRITE your prompts. don't try to write complex JSON prompts by hand. give the LLM examples of working prompts and ask it to generate new ones in the same format. — ❌ TOOLS I STOPPED USING: → Midjourney slowly becomes expensive and hard to work with and irrelevant in terms of quality → Runway — was good last year, Now falling behind → Leonardo AI / Reve AI — fun but not good enough — the biggest mistake I see people making: jumping between 10 tools and mastering none. pick ONE video tool (Seedance or Kling), ONE image tool (Nano Banana), ONE editor (CapCut), and go deep. that's how you get results.
Seedance 2.0 — the one trick that 2x's your results (nobody talks about this)
okay so I've been deep in Seedance 2.0 for weeks now and I want to share something that changed EVERYTHING for my videos 👇 The trick: translate your prompts into Chinese before submitting them. sounds weird right? let me explain. Seedance 2.0 was trained primarily on Chinese-language data. When you feed it English prompts, it's doing an internal translation layer before generating — which means detail gets lost, character consistency drops, and camera directives get ignored. when you feed it Chinese directly, it understands EVERY word exactly. Night and day difference. I'm talking: → characters actually look the same across the whole video → camera movements actually follow your directives → environments stay consistent (no random style shifts mid-clip) → action timing matches what you wrote how to do it (takes 30 seconds): 1. write your prompt in English (JSON format works best) 2. paste it into ChatGPT / Claude with this: "translate this JSON prompt into Mandarin Chinese. keep the JSON structure intact. translate all values but keep the keys in English." 3. copy the Chinese version 4. paste into Seedance 2.0 that's it. same prompt, 2x better results. bonus tips while I'm at it: 🔥 JSON > plain text — always structure your prompts with sections (Camera, Environment, Character, Action Sequence, Output). The model follows structure way better than walls of text. 🔥 Blocked words to avoid: monster, titan, pharaoh, detonates, crushing, roaring, catastrophic explosion. Replace with: "luminous shards", "collapses from within", "separating", "fragments apart". Keeps the filter from blocking your renders. 🔥 Access: Sjinn AI (sjinn.ai) is the easiest — no VPN needed. Dreamina AI works too. 🔥 For first-person POV zodiac-style content, specify 14mm ultra-wide lens + "natural breathing micro-movements" — this gives you that IMAX feel without the camera going crazy. try the Chinese trick on your next generation and report back — I want to see your results 👀
