A curious question.
Bread bakers, I’m curious… If someone built the ultimate bread baking website, what would make it actually useful for you? Would you want things like: • Step-by-step recipes • Troubleshooting guides for dough problems • Technique videos • A place to share bakes and ask questions Or something you feel most baking sites are missing? I’d genuinely love to hear what you all think.

@Henry Hunter That’s actually pretty wild. It’s a bit of a double-edged sword, though great to have that much engagement, but I imagine it’s a massive amount of 'noise' to sift through. It seems like it’d be a challenge to keep all those moving parts synced as you scale, especially trying to see exactly where people are hitting real friction in the workflow versus just chatting for fun. Have you noticed any specific spots in the journey where the analytics show people consistently dropping off or reaching out for a hand?

@Henry Hunter definitely not building an app. I just spend way too much time thinking about how digital tools actually hold up when someone is mid-bake and covered in flour.
One Thing I Learned About Bread This Week
One thing I’m learning about bread baking is that patience really matters. The more I bake, the more I realize fermentation time, dough handling, and small details can completely change the result. Every bake feels like a small experiment. What’s something bread baking has taught you recently?

Bread has definitely taught me patience… whether I like it or not šŸ˜‚ Every time I try to rush a rise, the dough basically says ā€œnope, not today.ā€ Out of curiosity, where does everyone usually learn new baking ideas these days? Blogs, baking websites, or just experimenting in the kitchen?

@Colleen Vergara Instagram is such a rabbit hole. I do the same thing, but I always find it a bit of a headache jumping between a saved Reel, a physical book, and then a Facebook group just to troubleshoot one loaf. It’s great that Henry is centralizing all that, but it’s a lot of moving parts to keep synced. Do you find yourself sticking mostly to the 'Pantry' site now, or are there still things you find easier to do over on Facebook or Instagram?"
Excited to Join the Bread Community
Hey everyone! šŸ‘‹ Happy to be here in Crust & Crumb Academy. I’ve recently been diving deeper into bread baking and wanted to join a community where people are passionate about improving and sharing their bakes. I’m especially interested in learning more about sourdough and improving my technique. Still experimenting and learning every bake! Quick question for everyone: What was the first bread you ever baked successfully? šŸž Looking forward to learning from you all and sharing my baking journey here!
