February Leaderboard Winner 🚀
A massive shoutout to @Gemma Coles for taking the top spot on the February leaderboard! 🎉 Gemma has been an incredible content contributor inside this community, consistently showing up, adding value, and leading by example. On top of that, she’s been building serious momentum in her own community Smart Skills Academy, teaching others how to become more productive using AI. 🔥 I also had the chance to connect with her inside @Steve Gast group, and I can confidently say she is a huge action-taker, FIRED UP about launching a series of books. Gemma is stepping boldly into creating a series of AI-focused books, and she is ready to rock and roll inside my upcoming cohort & VIP (VIP LAUNCHING SOON 👀). As a special reward for winning the leaderboard, I’ll be giving Gemma a $100 discount to level up into VIP. Well deserved. 💯 Also wanted to take a moment to recognize the other top 30-day leaderboard contributors. @Lara Knutzen who came in second place @Jeff Baer who came in 3rd @Sybil Hall who came in 4th @Nicole Lesley who came in 5th 👆 Huge thanks to all of you who make this community engaging by adding your valuable thoughts and contributions. Amazon Book Reviews Disappearing?
Reviews have officially become the hottest topic in every author space right now… and for good reason. Across KDP communities, people are seeing reviews disappear, books getting flagged, and in more serious cases, accounts being blocked. What’s interesting is that many of these authors aren’t trying to “game” the system. They’re simply asking for honest reviews — which we all need to build trust and increase conversions. Something has shifted. My personal theory? Amazon’s automation (likely AI-driven moderation) is getting more aggressive about detecting patterns that look suspicious — repetitive wording, coordinated activity, review swaps, or even overly polished copy. Whether intentional or not, the system is clearly tightening. I recorded a full YouTube breakdown explaining the 3 levels of review trouble, what Amazon officially allows, what’s risky, and how to protect your account long term. If you care about building sustainable income from your books, this is worth watching. Link below 👇

Thank you. I have worked with fraud detection systems at banks, and Amazon uses similar software to detect suspicious transactions. It seems that Amazon has expanded its "detection scenarios" largely due to the mass of book review exchange tools being pushed on YouTube and Social media. At first it was tools like Pubby, but now you have Book Bounty, Book Reverb just to name a few. As a result the number of book reviews being posted on Amazon has blown up. Many blame the use of AI to write the reviews on these swap sites, but in reality its more due to the detection software being used by Amazon. Believe me when I say its not difficult for these detection engines to spot certain "behavior" and "patterns" being used by those using these book review sites. Amazon's updated Terms of Conditions warned authors about this - what is forbidden: "“The customer [author] is a member of a review club where they are asked to register their Amazon public profile so that sellers or brands may monitor their reviews of products offered through the club”. SO... 1) Don't use book review Swap sites 2) Do use your own email lists 30 Do use mailout service promotions: this a legitimate way to obtain sales and reviews for your book and used by many popular book promoters such as BookBub, and I can name others.
