Low Carb mornings help focus?
I feel like I keep learning this, trying it, and then forgetting about it. Which is a bit ironic. But It has been known that staying fasted as long as you can during the day can help you focus and think more efficiently. The justification behind this is that your body and mind are in "hunting mode", where our ancestors were hunting animals, or gathering food. This state makes our brain more alert. You can also achieve this state by simply just avoiding carbs. Carbs tend to make me lethargic and while I can't explain the science behind it, I definitely notice. I eat 90% of my carbs with dinner, as my last meal, and this sets me up for a restful sleep. I do no/little carbs prior to this so that I can maintain a good mental focus and clarity as I work during the day. Let me know if anyone else has noticed this. Starting your day off with sugary cereal, a muffin, a bagel, or some other kind of simple sugar/car is probably the worst way to start a work day. Not only will you crash along with your bloodsugar (after the spike) but so will your brain. My only issue: workouts. I enjoy afternoon or morning workouts and with little carbs, could this hinder my workout? I doubt it, but more research is needed.

I definitely agree on this. Since I started having sweet potatoes with my last meal at night I have noticed a significamt increase in deep sleep. However there are some days I have carbs like dates during the and I notice that I become more prone to distraction… weird but true. Probably due to the sugar spikes. In terms of having some carbs before your exercise it will help for sure and not really impair your focus because you will use the glycogen for the task at hand however it also depends on what your workout will consist of.

@Vinnie Lamonica eating your protein before your carbs have you given that a go? This is something that might make a difference how you feel. Personally that makes me feel less lethargic and it also helps with your blood sugar spike which maybe creates that feeling you’re talking about..? Just a thought, you might already be doing this

Once you learn you become a teacher and vice versa.
