Friday, Sexta, 9th May, 2025: A wet Europe Day, Filomena Q&A
Olá bom dia alegria! Tudo bem? If you checked the calendar here, you'll have seen that the European Union is celebrating Europe day today, focusing on unity and long-term peace, commemorating the Schuman Declaration of 1950 that, in part, aimed to make make war between historic rivals France and Germany "not merely unthinkable, but materially impossible". @Filomena Pascoal will honour the day when she joins us at 8.20 today (for a live-stream!) with long-time lover of Portugal Norman, who's been here for around 20 years. Looking forward to meeting him and having our regular Q&A with our favourite Portuguese language and culture teacher. Any questions? Great to have a chat with @Sarah Davie yesterday and have a giggle with her about her dad Keith, and his adventures in Portuguese, see pic! Sarah revealed an interesting plan to walk Portugal, that you might like to help with? The SpartanFX rates are showing a US$ getting you 0.89 Euros and the UK£ buying you nearly 1.18 Euros, a slight improvement for Euro buyers. It's to see some of the community here are popping in to the studio in the morning. Please remember and note that I am available for a quick "Tudo bem?" from 8am every weekday morning here, and in the studio BEFORE I go LIVE or start recording. All Portugal Club members are welcome to use this check-in AND hang out in the studio to observe, ask questions, even join on-screen Looks like wet weather is back as we head to the district of Guarda for the daily IPMA weather check, where there's a 100% chance of rain, a low there of a chilly 5°C/40°F and a 'high' of 13°C/56°F, with rainfall expected throughout the day.
