The Good, Bad & Ugly of a $174,000 Auction
HUGE THANK YOU to @Nick Roberts and @Marcus Karl for this candid interview. They did NOT sugar coat or gloss over the Bad or the Ugly of this auction. Spoiler alert: Everyone still had fun and $174,000 in sales with $50,000 cash collected. This started on a Facebook profile! There are HUNDREDS if not THOUSANDS of creators and influencers with 5,000 or less followers on their FB profiles, Insta, YT channels, Email lists, X, Pinterest and SKOOL COMMUNITIES that could... Use the same EXACT method that Nick and Marcus did. And it doesn't have to be perfect. Why? Because the auction format is SO FORGIVING! Let's make this a LEARNING thread and ASK any questions you may have! Rooting For Ya, Travis PS At the end... I gave them a tip to bring in another $100k. In ONE WORD. Then I showed them how to cash flow this for $1 million. PPS If you got anything out of this interview and breakdown, please drop some appreciation for Markus and Nick. They really gave this their all and went into detail!

If You Do a LAST COMMENT WINS Contest...
You can always do FIRST COMMENT WINS contest! Just did that in my group. Still ended up with 30 comments. LOL. I needed someone to break some custom GPTs before I put them behind a paywall in my group... Asset Alchemist Offer Outlaw So I ran the contest to find that person. There's nothing like having fun in a group!

Would an auction work for my community?
After seeing my Auction Heroes crank out one six figure auction after another… I’m getting more questions about auctions: 👉 Will an auction work for my community or business? 👉 What would I auction? 👉 Do I have to be on camera and become an auctioneer? 👉 What if the auction ends with a super low bid? 👉 Can I run an auction on my email list? FB profile? Insta? X? YT channel? I’m considering doing an Ask Me Anything (AMA) on Auctions. Where I’d answer all those questions. And brainstorm with folks on what they could auction off for 5 or 6 figures in 24 hours or less. If I put on an Auction AMA… Would you come? Lemme know by posting your auction question 👇. You can steal one of the one’s from above. If I get enough interest I’ll make it happen. If not… I’m gonna rewatch The Shield or Breaking Bad! Rooting for Ya, Travis

I have two. How do I manage the partner's expectations on the starting bid and what happens if it's a turkey and we get few bidders and a low ending bid?
Our group is open to you.
Hubby and I created a local events Facebook group almost 5 years ago. We got tired of finding out about events an hour before they closed or the next day, so we decided to be the change we wanted to see. 😉 We live in Laramie, Wyoming. About 30,000 population, not including the University of Wyoming, which adds about 10,000. The group has 14,000 members, and we have folks ranging from UW grads and parents to folks who've been here forever. So, not everyone in the group lives here but they have some interest in Laramie. We're at 7,200 feet in elevation and have all kinds of outdoor activities here, hunting, fishing, camping, hiking, you name it. Of course, UW brings plenty of events ranging from art shows to sports. We also host the state finals for high school activities and sports. Politically, we are a mix. UW and quite a chunk of the city itself are blue, while county residents tend to be red. As you can imagine, this gets quite interesting at election time, as county residents cannot vote on city offices, but the city gets to vote for the county commissioners (state statute). We've culled the jerks, for the most part, because from the start we've been firm about content and comments. We don't suffer fools. In fact, until recently, our #1 group rule was, "Admins rule the roost." There are pros and cons to that, but our group seldom turns into a shitshow like other Laramie groups do. We don't usually put up posts that are controversial just because we've had issues - but that doesn't mean we wouldn't consider some fun posting that gets eyeballs and comments. Right now, we have 4-5 business advertisers who pay us $25 a month to post any time they like. We don't allow free business advertising, but we do allow promotion of free events by businesses. We honestly thought that deal would go over better than it has. Our efforts at monetization have had mixed results, so I'd like to open up five spots in the group for anyone here to run auctions or try selling your wares.
