7 simple ways to interrupt stress before it turns into overwhelm
Especially for women who are used to handling everything… until suddenly it feels like too much. 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡-𝐜𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐰𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐲 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐚𝐭 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐬𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦. They keep showing up. They keep producing. They keep holding everything together. Until suddenly, something small feels like the final straw. You forget something simple. Someone asks you for one more thing. Most advice for overwhelm is useless in the moment.
You’ll hear things like “Just breathe.” “Think positive.” “Take a break.” 𝐁𝐮𝐭 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐬𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐝𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐮𝐬𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐢𝐬𝐧’𝐭 𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩𝐟𝐮𝐥. Because in that moment, you’re not looking for theory. You’re looking for something that actually works so you can keep functioning.
