🍗 Karaage vs 🥩 Jingisukan
Yesterday’s winner was… 食パン (Shokupan)! 🍞🔥 The cloud-soft bakery favourite rises into the Final Four! Now we have a battle of bold flavours… 🔥 Japanese Food Tournament — Round 3 (Final 8) 🔥 🍗 Karaage vs 🥩 Jingisukan Crispy fried chicken versus smoky northern barbecue. Only one reaches the Final Four. 🍗 Karaage (唐揚げ) Juicy chicken marinated in soy sauce, garlic and ginger, then fried to crispy perfection — karaage is one of Japan’s most beloved comfort foods. From bento boxes to izakaya plates to festival stalls, it’s the kind of dish people never get tired of. Why it’s strong this round: Crispy outside, juicy inside Bold savoury flavour Easy to snack on and share A universal crowd favourite This is addictive comfort food. 🥩 Jingisukan (ジンギスカン) A specialty of Hokkaidō, jingisukan is grilled lamb cooked on a distinctive dome-shaped metal plate. The meat cooks on top while vegetables below soak up the flavour, creating a smoky, communal barbecue experience. Why it’s a serious contender: Unique lamb flavour Social, interactive cooking Strong regional identity Perfect for gatherings This is northern Japan’s BBQ pride. 🗳️ Time to Vote! Which one reaches the Final Four? The crispy fried favourite karaage? Or the smoky Hokkaidō grill jingisukan? Cast your vote and defend your favourite! 🍗🥩 The Final Four is about to be decided… 🔥

📝 今週の日記(Weekly Diary)
✏️ Goal: Write a short diary entry in Japanese 🧠 Mini Lesson: Place に行きます (go to a place) To say “go to a place” in Japanese, we use: Place + に + 行きます Place + ni + ikimasu に shows the destination. Examples: 店に行きます。 Mise ni ikimasu. I go to a shop. 公園に行きます。 Kōen ni ikimasu. I go to the park. 📍 Useful Places 店 — mise — shop レストラン — resutoran — restaurant 公園 — kōen — park 学校 — gakkō — school カフェ — kafe — café 仕事 — shigoto — work ✅ Beginner Diary (with romaji + English) 明日はひまです。 Ashita wa hima desu. Tomorrow I am free. 店に行きます。 Mise ni ikimasu. I will go to a shop. レストランに行きます。 Resutoran ni ikimasu. I will go to a restaurant. 公園に行きます。 Kōen ni ikimasu. I will go to the park. 楽しみです。 Tanoshimi desu. I am looking forward to it. 🫵 Your Turn Write 2–4 sentences about where you will go. Example: カフェに行きます。 公園に行きます。 Simple is perfect 😊

Introduce yourself and share a pic of something Japanese you own or something Japanese that you're interested in! Feel free to explain why you want to learn Japanese or what you like about Japan. Also, feel free to post any Japanese language questions you have. I'd be glad to answer them! As for me, I love learning Judo. Have you ever tried it? And I love Japanese literature, such as Kokoro by Natsume Soseki. Have you read any Japanese novels? I also really enjoyed Cowboy Bebop when it came out! Not the live action Netflix version! To start learning, I highly recommend Your 50 First Sentences Course: https://www.skool.com/japanese/classroom/fe1c2853?md=60ee3552d26e4ffcb910a86675e10f95 Arigatou, Joe Sensei.

Konnichiwa Watashi wa Mehran desu. Indo kara kimashita. Nihongo suki desu. Nihon e ikimasu. Douzo Yoroshimu onegaishimasu. As for why I'm learning japanese is very different. I'm a anime fan from a very long time. But I never thought to learn Japanese. As a average student (Studies don't really attracts me) that's why I was searching to learn something different and unique. From where I live Japanese is very very far from making a career in it. That's why my curiosity clicked in and the way japanese attracted me is no other thing did. And I love Japan I want to go there as soon as possible. I really love the Japanese culture and way of living. I want to settle there. One day I'll go to Japan and speak fluently. This is my little story. Hope this community will help.
