NEED TESTIMONIALS for Bri’s new app!
Hey all! 👋 Since joining Bri’s team, my focus is doing everything possible to make sure people know how awesome Bri & her new app are! Hey team, my head is spinning after my first round of try-outs as elem/middle school director! SO many girls in the gym which was humbling and encouraging and overwhelming and awesome! Just wanted to share something good ‼️🏀❤️

No meeting Tuesday - Traveling to ATL!
Hey team, I'll be in an airplane during our normal meeting time, so decided it best to loop back next call -- but I have some great stuff to look at in the meantime for those of you who aren't already drowning in season prep lol 1) Harleigh Day 2 - she kilt it 2) If any of you are interested in helping program the AI -- I want to go through all of these shots, and create really robust outputs/notes utilizing the questions from a significantly-updated version of the DIY Shot Breakdown Guide (not sharing that with the masses right now on advice from my friend Mark). I think this would not only be huge help to me, but would also be a great resource/opportunity to sharpen your eyes. If you're interested in #2 --COMMENT BELOW and let me know and we can get cooking on it all together! - I know that seasons are coming up soon and I can't wait to get updates from all of you :) Don't forget that I am always here for you as an ear or to bounce ideas around!!

Youth coaches - what are the most common problems?
On the encouragement of @Chad Bryan - I’ve started developing a “Shooting For Complete Beginners” course. I know what I’ve seen, but what are the biggest pain points for our very beginner shooters that you’ve worked with? Give as many details as you need!

LOVE this!🙌🏀 Rarely (if ever) do I see a beginner shooter have the proper footwork/base. The natural focus from them (and probably their parent) is the upper body - and not uncommon for the shot to be 2 handed initially. Teaching a kid/parent, from the beginning, how the shot develops from the base, through the hips, etc could save an infinite amount of struggle in shot development. The program Mason Elite has the kid/parent make a shot line (straight line taped on wall & floor) and has kid do all footwork drills on this shot line (no ball or basket). As a parent, I have seen the greatest growth in my 9 yr old son’s footwork from doing these drills - without a ball or basket initially - from this shot line training. Not sharing this because I think it’s gospel, just adding to the pool of knowledge. :) Now that my son Tré has a foundational/beginner understanding of his base (feet tilted, butt down, etc), we are beginning BriAnna’s lab work drills and he loves them. But I think the order of learning these skills is very helpful.

Free Throws/Boomers
Since joining this group a few months ago (& getting my shot critiqued by the group), I made it my summer goal - & a commitment to my boys 7 & 9yrs old - to be able to make 10 free throws in a row prior to the start of the new school year. Turns out, school starts tomorrow morning - so I had some work to put in tonight after the kids went to bed!! It wasn’t abnormal for me to keep getting 9 shots made in a row, then tightening up & missing my 10th. Finally, I started to do some “boomer” reps and, I kid you not, I hit 20 free throws in a row. I was actually starting to become nervous I may not miss for a long time. 😂 So as I channel my inner Kobe & revel in my Dad accomplishment 💀, here is me confirming that this sh*t works. 👏 Thanks BriAnna! 🍻
