Greetings from Germany
Hey you guys! I am Marie-Christin, I am writing a mixture of horror and comedy (very German) Right now I’m working on a book about a very specific west-southern german Fasnacht. The people dress up as witches and monsters to scare the winter demons away. In my book, one of these old winter demons wakes up after 600 years of sleep. Right now I am going through the first beta-reader feedback. I am excited to be here! Best regards
Greetings from Germany
@Kirsten Ivatts Oh that area is very roman-catholic, historically, and has a great, but very different Karneval culture. These festivities in germany are quite different depending on the area. The alemannische Fasnacht has a lot of simularities with Prechtenlaufen. And: I love the Ruhrpott, the area around Hagen, Düsseldorf or Köln <3
New Member Greetings!
Time to welcome new people in! We've had a lot of folks come around in just the past week. With no further ado (and if you've already been active, no worries, I do this for everyone who comes in), please bid a warm welcome to... @David Mannesson, who like myself comes from the world of 'quests', which are basically online collaborative CYOA novels, usually done on internet forums! @Glauco Portolan, an equine educator and author on Ream! @Autumn Reed, who's written 27(!) books so far. @Elizabeth Mays, who's currently writing a romantasy story for a contest. @Brandon Ellis, interested in writing post-apocalypse focused stuff (very interesting/flexible genre). @Dee Howard, who's working on what I'd describe as a quite interesting anthology project, either with short stories or comics! @Faith Hogan, an Irish author who writes stories about human connection, usually set in rural Ireland, as well as a bit of crime fiction. @Cathya Sylvain, writing about that quintessential and inescapable topic, life! @Ethan Gaines, who's in the midst of writing a full-on historical fiction series! @Ayanfeoluwa Aderemi, who's just browsing for the moment (but is welcome regardless) @Febe Moss, master of the arts of cats, memes, and presumably cat memes - she's writing a book! @Zultana Winston, here to mingle with other writers (aren't we all 😉) @Marie-Christin Spitznagel, a german author who plays with both horror and humor (very related disciplines, despite surface appearances)! Very grateful to have you all in here. Feel free to introduce yourselves further down below if you want, this is just meant to give an easy way to jump into the community for y'all if you haven't already.
Hey, thank you for the introduction and the nice welcome! I am excited to be here
