The Sallie House
In the small town of Atchison, Kansas, sits a house with an interesting history. The house was built in the mid-1800s and was the home and medical practice of Dr. Charles Finney. *The Story of Sallie* As the story goes, one day, a woman came seeking medical attention with her 6-year-old daughter, Sallie, who had collapsed from extreme abdominal pain. After examining her, the doctor realized she had appendicitis and needed surgery immediately. With no hospital nearby, the doctor decided to operate there, or risk the girl dying. He gave Sallie some anesthesia, but in the haste of trying to save her life, he didn't allow the anesthesia to take full effect. As he made the first cut, the girl screamed in pain, and he cut into her deeper than he meant to, and she bled out and died. However, there is no evidence to back up this story, so it is unknown whether it is true. *What Made the House Famous* The story of Sallie began in 1992, when Debra and Tony Pickman moved into the house. At first, nothing unusual happened, but after a few months, odd things started to happen. Lightbulbs would frequently burn out, the oven would turn on by itself, and electrical devices would stop working and then start again with no clear reason. At first, the couple thought these problems were just due to old wiring. But things got worse when their dog started barking and growling in the nursery. One day, they came home and found all the stuffed animals in the nursery arranged in a circle on the floor. Worried someone had broken in, they searched the house but didn't find anyone or any sign of a break-in. After putting their baby to bed and leaving the nursery, they would come back to find the toys on the floor again. This happened several times, making them more anxious. They asked Tony’s brother, Larry, for help. He experienced the odd things happening and feeling unsettled, they left the house and stayed with Tony’s mother. She talked to the family who used to live there, and remembered only small, odd things, like children blaming a girl named Sallie for their toys being all over the floor. She thought Sallie was just an imaginary friend and left it at that.

Weekly Discussion #3 - Do you believe in past lives?
Some people believe our souls live many lives, carrying experiences, lessons, and even connections from one lifetime to the next. Others see the idea as more symbolic than literal. Have you ever felt an unexplainable connection to a person, place, or time in history—like you’ve been there before? Do you think past lives are real, or is it just our imagination at work? Past Life vs Reincarnation: They are closely related but not the same. - Reincarnation is the process: The belief that after death, your soul is reborn into a new body and life. It’s a cycle that can repeat many times. - Past lives are the result: The lives you’ve supposedly lived before your current one. So, if reincarnation is the act of coming back, past lives are the collection of your previous journeys. Share your thoughts, stories, or theories below. 👇 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Personally, I do believe in past lives. I have seen a lot of convincing evidence over the years, and the fact that energy is neither created nor destroyed but only transferred leads to my belief that when you die, your energy is transferred to another soul. I feel deep connections with many different time periods and have always felt that I have been born into the wrong era.

I definitely believe in past lives. My daughter Natalee has a child spirit attached to her that was confirmed by Patti Negri. Recently while at Poasttown Elementary she had a past life regression session done and found out that the spirit was her twin brother from a past life. I also had a session done at and both those videos will be coming soon to our YouTube channel.

Introduction
My name is Matt and I am the co-founder of Nightmare.Explorers. I do this alongside my daughter Natalee. 1. Where are you from? Maple Grove, MN. Nothing in Maple Grove for hauntings but plenty of locations within 1-2 hours of me such as The Palmer House, St. James Hotel, and The Boyd House to name a few. 2. What sparked your interest in the paranormal? A few past occurrences in a house I used to live in and then after a friend took me on an investigation that sealed the deal. 3. What kind of paranormal topics are you most interested in? All of them. 4. Do you have any experience with ghost hunting, or are you just getting started? I've been investigating now for 1 1/2 years. 5. What's one place you'd love to investigate and why? Sweet Springs Sanatorium. After seeing the location on Project Fear I felt a calling to go there. Unfortunately due to circumstances at the location that will not happen, but hopefully someday. So for now for locations I can get to it would be The Washoe Club as I love the mystery of the west and the history of Ghost Towns.
