Music Festivals
Oeiras has a free music festival every year. The 2025 edition started May 30th, and will last until June 15th. There are also mini-concerts for kids, taking place during the weekends. Most shows happen in Jardim Municipal de Oeiras, and a few at Parque Urbano de Miraflores. https://lisboasecreta.co/en/oeiras-festivities-2025/ There are also restaurants and food stands available.😋

Paul Rees: Portugal has just recorded its highest ever wind gusts in its modern meteorological history during the passage of Storm Kristin in late January 2026. According to multiple meteorological reports: A peak gust of 208.8 km/h was measured at the Parque Eólico das Degracias, Soure (Coimbra region) — the strongest wind speed recorded in the country’s observational network during this event. Other extreme gusts included around 178 km/h at Monte Real Air Base (Leiria district). These values surpassed previous national records (such as 176.4 km/h from Storm Leslie in 2018) and mark the most intense wind event ever documented in Portugal

Weather update - "Much calmer, sunnier second half of February"
"After WEDNESDAY/THURSDAY the pattern changes completely and we will have a period of calm. We can expect days of fog and humidity, but then we will see the end of this period of depressions,” says the climatologist. “We will have a much calmer, sunnier second half of February,” he stated, adding that “we may have another rainy day, but nothing compared to the first half of the month.” Full story
