👥 WHO CAN FIX THIS? USER MANAGEMENT CHALLENGE
A UK nonprofit has 3 departments: Fundraising, Support, and Finance. Right now, everyone can see and edit everything, and they’re all using the same Profile. The Admin needs to fix this fast, but keep things easy to manage long-term. What’s the BEST way to handle this? 💬 Vote below and tell us why, this is where admin-level access decisions really matter 💼

✅ Correct answer: B The best approach here is creating separate Profiles for each team and controlling object and field access at the Profile level. Why? Because the core problem in this scenario is baseline access. Everyone is currently using the same Profile, which means Salesforce has no way to distinguish what each department should or should not be able to do. Profiles define: • Which objects users can access • What they can do on those objects • Which fields they can see or edit Once the correct Profiles are in place, you can then layer Permission Sets on top if needed for extra access. Options like Roles, Page Layouts, or Permission Sets alone don’t solve the root issue. They either control visibility or extend access, but they do not replace proper baseline user setup.
