Day 17 - Shorts Strategy: Fastest Path to Exposure
What a journey this is! My first two years, no shorts. Trying to get back in the game in September of 2025 I started doing "Walk and Talk" Shorts. I did 14 Sept - Nov. I did this challenge in December of 2025, since then I have posted 53. In late February, I felt the shorts were screwing up my analytics, so I unlisted 19 scheduled for March 😂🤣. So here I am in March with Alexa's voice in my head saying, "Even a few views on shorts is EXPOSURE!" My biggest takeaway today, I need to SLOW down and take serious developing my skills in word smithing good scripts. Shorts are the perfect place to start, a lesson from @Adam Tinkoff, who does fabulous shorts on his channel! Questions I have still lingering in my head, 1. What is a good description to write with shorts and 2. When is the best time to post them? I think Alexa said mornings and early evenings. I did write, film, and edit a short today, it's attached. Let me know what you think. I will be posting my shorts on Sunday Evenings and Tuesday Mornings. My long videos go out on Thursday evenings. I did film to other videos to batch today, I didn't write the script, I had help from AI. With all that, I am back in the short business on my channel! Exposure is key if you want to grow. Thanks for your support @Jenny Sharratt @Dr. Saundra Stancil @Eddi Pinegar @Cat PInegar @Ricardo Solomons @Casey Hamlin @Adam Tinkoff @Dajana K.

This was such a good post, Jaye — you can feel your experience coming through in the way you’re thinking about this. Nothing about this feels random anymore… it feels intentional, and that’s a big shift. I really loved the honesty too — especially the part about unlisting the Shorts 😂. That’s real. We all hit that moment where we think “is this messing everything up?”… and then we hear Alexa in our head like… just keep going. And you’re absolutely right about the biggest takeaway — slowing down and focusing on wordsmithing. That’s the game. Shorts aren’t about doing more… they’re about saying something clear, sharp, and felt in a very small space. And you’re already starting to lean into that. Also… Cat nailed it in her comment — your energy feels like you’re just talking to a friend. That’s not something you can fake. That comes from experience and actually living what you’re saying. You can see that in you.
Steps Forward
Sometimes our steps forward look like pivoting in place and looking in a different direction, others look like sticking your toe in to the unknown and hoping for the best! Yesterday, I stuck my toe in, well maybe I actually jumped it the deep end! Because of @Alexa Saarenoja example, teaching and the community she has built here on the Skool platform, I decided to take a step in her shadow and do the same! For everyone who has done the 30 Breakthrough Challenge you know the end goal for some is to develop community around our channels. Which Alexa has done a fabulous job at. The micro community within the Creator Boost Tribe @Dr. Saundra Stancil @Jenny Sharratt @Eddi Pinegar @Adam Tinkoff @Ricardo Solomons @Casey Hamlin @Cat PInegar, you know the value of reaching out here and getting support from each other. HUGE! PRICELESS! thank you so much for joining me on this journey! We are all just at the beginning, I am so stoked on watching each of us grow where we are planted. 30 days of this challenge is changing us all, I am grateful to be part of your grow process. I you care to check out Just Living Truth Tribe you can check it out here. You will find I am following Alexa's format from here, to set it up. I am a long way from being where I want to be, but we all know, you have to take the first step someday. Yesterday was step number one for me! 💖 you all spark my heart!

Its a crazy ride your on...... Cat and I are living it lol.
Day 27
Today was a good one. Day 27 really got me thinking about something I haven’t paid enough attention to yet… the people on the other side of the screen. when I recieve a comment, I’d usually just say “thanks” and move on. Not because I didn’t care, just because I didn’t really see it as part of the process yet. But these last few lessons shifted that. This isn’t just about posting videos… it’s about building connection. Actually talking with people. Asking questions. Letting them be part of what we’re creating instead of just watching it. And the timing of this lesson couldn’t have been better… Today was also our first live event — an hour-long meditation. And it went really well. There’s something different about being live. It’s not just content anymore… it feels like practice, like real people showing up together in the moment. I’m starting to see… this isn’t just a YouTube channel. This can actually become a space where people show up, practice, ask questions, and grow together. Still very early. Not a ton of comments yet.But I can see how doing this right from the beginning could change everything. So moving forward, I’m going to be a lot more intentional: Not just replying… but connecting. Not just posting… but inviting people in. Thanks for reading guys. @Cat PInegar @Dr. Saundra Stancil @Jenny Sharratt @Jaye Brunner @Dajana K. https://www.youtube.com/live/iPTAq1gSXF0?si=6ktmwOSUicS8teL0 Here is a link to the event 60 min meditation. starts off funny cuz I've never done this before lol. every morning at 5am Texas time.

@Jenny Sharratt I did have like 7 people drop in while live and I think it has had about 15 views so far after posting

You've got this my friend, keep moving forward..... proud of you Jenny
Day 26 RETENTION
We went into retention, I’ve never really looked at this before in a real way. I would just make a video, post it, and move on. But actually seeing where people drop off matters . On my last video I lost about 60% of viewers in the first 40 seconds. This is actually the feedback we’ve been needing the whole time. It’s not that people don’t like the content…It’s that we’re losing them before they even get into it. What’s also really interesting is doing this at the very beginning of my channel and being able to watch how everything is growing in real time. It feels like I’m learning this stuff while the foundation is still being built, which is actually pretty cool. I’m also running three different types of playlists right now — cooking, philosophy, and meditation — so it’s going to be interesting to see how each one performs and what changes I’ll need to make for each. I’m starting to see that they might all need slightly different approaches to keep people watching. Today helped me understand that the first 15 seconds really matter. Not in a complicated way… just in a “get to the point, show something interesting, and give people a reason to stay” kind of way. Also realizing that pacing matters way more than I thought.Less explaining… more showing.Less warming up… more getting into it. I’m not trying to go back and fix everything I’ve already done — that’s where it can get overwhelming. I’m just taking this and applying it to the next video. One small improvement at a time. Kind of like yoga… you don’t force the whole practice to be perfect on day one. You just show up, stay aware, and make small adjustments. Over time it starts to flow. That’s how I’m looking at this now. Appreciate everyone in here — we’re all figuring it out together. @Cat PInegar @Dr. Saundra Stancil @Jenny Sharratt @Jaye Brunner @Dajana K.
