OpenAI Reveals Why LLMs Hallucinate
OpenAi released a white paper on why chatbots hallucinate. It comes down to how LLMs are trained. Basically, LLM training rewards confident guessing over admitting uncertainty. I wrote a LI post about it. https://www.linkedin.com/posts/raynamonforti_were-accidentally-teaching-ai-to-lie-with-activity-7371195766830272512-R-MU?utm_source=share&utm_medium=member_desktop&rcm=ACoAAAAdoEkBUwgPrhv5a5tq-HkwYWQtwbLVITM Here is the white paper as well. why-language-models-hallucinate.pdf

Welcome everyone!
Super Learning Saturday!! Here’s something for you! AI Evals
I have been spending a lot of time these days building AI systems for companies and as these capabilities are beginning to mature I am spending more time building evaluations. Here is a resource that has helped me, and I hope it helps you too. I was so inspired in fact that I will be teaching my own version in October!

Timely topic. I need to carve out some time to watch this video. I attended a webinar from Teresa Torres a couple weeks ago where she shared her journey vibe coding a discovery interview coach with a focus on how she approached evals. I definitely need to learn more. Teresa's core audience is product managers and is coming at this from a product management angle. Teresa shared these two blog posts today in her newsletter. Behind the Scenes: Building the Product Talk Interview Coach | Product Talk - this one is long and dives into what tools she used to build her prototype, make things "real", and how she approached evals. Building My First AI Product: 6 Lessons from My 90-Day Deep Dive | Product Talk - this one also provide some good detail on evals (same project). Keep an eye out for the evals webinar. Teresa is repackaging it and will, ultimately, post it on YouTube.
My First Vibe Coding Adventure: Building a Mobile App for My Internet Radio Station
I just vibe coded my first mobile app and did this for my internet radio station. I wrote a LI article around my journey and learnings. I hope you find it helpful for anyone attempting any type of coding for the first time, like me. Also, if anyone is interested in being a beta tester. Let me know. The one requirement is that you are an Android user. I am deploying to the Google Play store first and iPhone will follow. https://www.linkedin.com/posts/raynamonforti_six-months-ago-i-couldnt-code-hello-world-activity-7356765625324617728-zFJA?utm_source=share&utm_medium=member_desktop&rcm=ACoAAAAdoEkBUwgPrhv5a5tq-HkwYWQtwbLVITM
