How do focus?
How do you open up to focus when caught between a rock and a hard place… how do you “switch gears” without watching the clock when your literally stealing time from a far too busy and demanding day?

Well I took your advice and sat for a few last night!! Found an old barely used sketch book and … “played” w the visions in my head. I I actually found the crevice of the space betwen the rock and the hard place… open up.... … and focus seeped in!!! I’m feeling happier today that I woke to knowing I sketched!!!!! 😊 Looking forward to continuing to include the process to my weeks… …. And finally being able to create journals of thoughts and ideas without boundaries.. Could have benefit from an assortment of pencils. Even considered fine line markers here🫣 yikes!! So enjoyed using Van Gogh starry night as a reference!!!! Thanks for your input!!!! You can’t imagine the battle here that's tormented me for far too many months. Glad I signed up!

@Helen Aldous yes taking that oppty to draw something that I’ve been envisioning in my head…. And feeling my self work it out really felt grand! I was watching another artist who develops his images thru sketches. I realized. It’s a step my mind of chaos seriously needs to reach out and find its point focus. Hello: im Brenda from Long Island New York! I made it! months of thinking about getting time to get back into sketching. I finally sat down and took the time, longer than I had intended… and yes… time and focus do not come easily these days. But the fact is IF you don’t take the time, you won’t ever find time to do it. This is the start of a study of a painting by P. Bruegel - “Blind leading the Blind” that I’d like to do in sculptural relief. Far from wonderful. But it IS a beginning. Thank you for offering this. I miss having time to draw.

@Helen Aldous yes…. I did not want to stop … gave myself 15 minutes ended up an 1 1/2 after I had it then moved a few lines around and lost it!!!! Uuggghhh! Took it to where it stands now… not quite where it was but has to be enough. Placement of line is so ultimately important!!! Which brought me to an idea for today’s project…. I entertain more often than not these days.. saying. I QUIT!!!! Let me live where I want to live! 😊. Which also brought me to a big question…. How do you open up to focus. When you’re caught between a tick and a hard place… that 1 hr taken was not time I typically have. But how do you “switch gears””” without watching the clock?
