Earlier you called out people who "limit what they can do because they feel they have to understand everything.” I guess it’s a fear that I will be called to explain in a meeting and end up looking absolutely clueless. I think it's like the adage cart in front of the horse. Just need to focus on the client issue, and obtaining the details, then go figure it out.

Nailed it! Task avoidance, "dopamine hit of productivity.” Let’s go create another landscaping project in the backyard to avoid what I really need to get done. I completely agree that I should build out products that clients actually need, and scale out slowly. I also don’t have any problem selling someone else’s product if it meets the needs of the client.
Drinking from the firehose
Hey everyone! 👋 I’m retired and currently doing some side income work around hardware and software IT implementations. I don’t come from a strong programming or DBA background, but I’m now looking to shift into AI. My goal is to build up to 4–5 regular clients over the next 6 months, delivering AI implementations, while also working toward creating repeatable software products. My biggest challenge right now is learning the AI tools (or the right tool) well enough to build a couple of solid sample products. If you’ve gone from a non-programming background into building AI solutions, I’d love to hear what tools helped you get traction early on. 🙌
Welcome! Introduce Yourself HERE 🔥

Hello, my name is Steve Gates. I live in California. My experience is in IT Management, work process, and HW/SW implementation projects. As I transition into AI Projects, I am trying to learn the platforms, options, and finding a niche. The big obstacles for me are the distractions from my company focus (with new shiny tools and developments in the world) and the feeling that I am drinking from a firehose (too much stuff available). I am most excited about successful AI implementations, where my time involved is profitable.
