Hello to the 360° Profit Community! In the short few weeks that I have been a member, I've already picked up on some helpful tips. For example, I learned about the ReTouch app for removing objects from someone's post. Well today I am posting to request any helpful tips & suggestions from anyone who is willing to help.
I started exploring 360° virtual tours as a possible business venture in the beginning of 2024. I tried out a couple different set-ups, & about 6 months ago I eventually landed on the set-up that gave me the best results to date. I had only created tours for 3 properties, until about a week ago when I had the opportunity to create my first 'professional' tour when a buddy set me up with a real estate agent looking for someone to capture a property up for sale. She stated that if things went well, she had more properties for me to capture in the future. Well, as you will see below, the tour did not end up as I would have hoped. There are numerous defects & imperfections, so many that I would not post this tour for the general public to see. It is a good thing that this tour was just a trial run & not one that I charged a fee for, but I was hoping for a successful outcome that would have led to 'for profit' tours with this agent.
The completed tour is posted below. Please take a look & offer any feedback, critiques, suggestions, etc.... that might help me to avoid having the same flaws in future projects. Perhaps the agent will give me another shot, but it will do no good if I reproduce the same defects.
The tour is posted here...
I marked the defects with red stars (infospots).
The set-up I used:
===============
+ Insta360 X3 camera (HDR photo)
+ Insta360 2-in-1 invisible selfie stick + tripod
+ Tripod extension tube
(When the tripod extension is attatched to the invisible selfie stick, the camera stands at just about 5 ft off the ground. Camera battery was fully charged.)
Possible causes of defects:
=======================
+ dirty lenses (tho I cleaned them non-stop)
+ shaky/unsteady tripod set-up
+ temperature (about 90°F that day)
+ Insta360 X3 settings??
***(Question: Does anyone know if the Insta360 X3 is known for automatically - without the user doing it - adjusting so that the camera/tripod is hidden from the shot? Because I noticed that my camera/tripod are not visible, even though I did not knowingly make any changes to the camera settings to achieve this. And is there a way to PREVENT the X3 from doing this on its own? I think when it does this on its own, it gets the stitching wrong)
For reference, here is another propery that I created a tour for a couple months ago (exterior shots only, no interior), with the same camera set-up, similar weather conditions, & no obvious defects:
If all of my tours turned out like that one, I would be fairly happy. I just can't figure out the cause(s) of the huge discrepancies between the two tours. And I dont want to show up to capture another property 'hoping' that things go well & that there are no defects. I want to feel confident that every tour I do will be a great one! So I would appreciate it so much if anyone has any comments for me after taking a look. Thank you for reading (sorry for the length) & for sharing! I hope to be able to help other members in the near future!
