Some of your lack of peace isn’t mysterious at all—it’s disobedience. You know what God asked you to stop. You know what He asked you to start. Instead of obeying, you’ve negotiated, delayed, or explained it away. Your spirit feels noisy because you’re arguing with the Spirit of God.
Peace is not God’s reward for perfection. But there is a deep calm that comes from a clean conscience. “Great peace have they which love thy law.” When you line your life up with His ways, you stop fighting the very One you’re asking to bless you.
Obedience is rarely convenient, but it’s always freeing. That apology you’ve avoided, that habit you keep excusing, that step of faith you keep postponing—on the other side of that “yes, Lord” is a peace you can’t get from comfort alone.
Today, ask the Holy Spirit plainly, “Where am I resisting You?” Listen. Then pick one concrete act of obedience and do it.
Let’s pray together,
Holy Spirit, show me where I’ve been stubborn or selective in my obedience. I don’t want to fight You and then complain I have no peace. Give me courage to say “yes” in the exact place I’ve been saying “later.” Cleanse my conscience and lead me into the freedom of obeying You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
