Being thoughtful
After painting for 25 years in acrylic oil mixed media and performance art I decided 1997 to move onto photography since photography had always been the basis for all of my painting but using other photographers to shoot what I directed I moved from portrait work into street photography because I just got tired of being clever and the studio and all you have to do to be a good street photographer to be awake and be thoughtful and capture things that nobody else would notice it became too difficult for me to carry around my camera around my neck and I had trouble walking so I decided to make a dramatic change which I called getting out of my own way and went from doing representational and quasi representational images I moved into non-representational non-objective abstractions applying my expertise in Photoshop to the art of creating images strictly in the computer I started by shooting film stills from TV and moved onto using Google images to get bits and pieces and portraits to manipulate in the computer after a year and a half of creating this and making work totally antithetical to what my paintings look like I think I burned myself out and haven't created new work now for six months my goal is to join these various groups on school and meet other artists and similar situations and trade ideas
