Every sales platform is different. It always comes down to one thing: the buyer.
The buyer you’re looking for will tell you where to list a product. I love cross-listing and you should cross-list just about everything. But there are some items that need to go on a specific platform to get that sale.
eBay is most universal. eBay is sold everything from trading cards to literal islands and jets lol but eBay is all about the item. Buyers are going to eBay because there’s a specific item they’re looking for. You’re getting paid to provide an item.
In contrast, Depop (my favorite platform personally) is all about a vibe. Most buyers on Depop aren’t looking for a specific item, they’re trying to find a look. A trend. A niche. An aesthetic. They’re looking for the sweater or the bag that just feels right. Brand doesn’t matter. You’re getting paid to provide a look.
On eBay, to the right buyer you get paid for the right thing. On Depop, to the right buyer you get paid for the right look. A big difference that opens up the door to make more money 💵
