Ignoring These 6 Steps Could Cost You Even More of Your Hard-Earned Money
I’ve been there. I’ve spent more than I care to admit on make-money-online courses, systems, blueprints, secret strategies....whatever you want to call them. Some were decent, most were garbage, and for a long time, I had nothing to show for it.
No sales. No momentum. Just another login to another dashboard collecting digital dust.
And if you’re feeling stuck, frustrated, or like you’re just throwing money at the next “big thing” hoping it works… I get it.
The truth is, it’s not just about finding the right course.
It’s about doing the right things in the right order. That’s what changed everything for me.
So before you buy another program that promises you the world but leaves you stranded, make sure you’re not skipping these six steps:
1. Pick ONE Business Model & Stick to It
Shiny object syndrome kills more online businesses than anything else. Every week, there’s a new “hot” method—crypto, ecom, agency, SMMA, you name it. But if you’re constantly jumping ship, you’ll never build momentum. Affiliate marketing is simple, scalable, and doesn’t require product creation or client headaches. Stick with it, refine your approach, and don’t get distracted.
2. Focus on Offers That Actually Convert
Not all affiliate programs are created equal. You can drive all the traffic in the world, but if the offer is weak, it’s a waste of time. You need to promote something that’s already proven to sell—high-converting sales pages, solid commissions, and ideally, recurring revenue. That’s why I only focus mostly on high-ticket affiliate programs that make real money with fewer sales.
3. Build Your Audience First
Most people try to sell before they build trust. Big mistake. Whether it’s organic content, an email list, or a Skool community, you need a place where people know, like, and trust you before they buy. Otherwise, you’re just another random person pushing an affiliate link.
4. Use Paid Traffic to Speed Things Up
Organic traffic is great, but if you want fast, scalable results, you need a predictable way to get in front of the right people. Paid ads (Meta, YouTube, TikTok) let you control your growth instead of hoping an algorithm blesses you with traffic one day. The key is running ads to something valuable—like a free Skool group—not just slamming them with an affiliate link.
5. Follow Up Like Your Business Depends on It (Because It Does)
Most affiliate sales don’t happen on the first touch. People need time to see the value, trust you, and take action. That’s why I use automated email sequences, Skool posts, and retargeting ads to stay in front of leads and nurture them toward buying. If you’re not following up, you’re leaving serious money on the table.
6. Surround Yourself with People Actually Making Money
This one was a game-changer for me. For too long, I was stuck watching courses instead of talking to people actually doing it. The biggest shifts in my business happened when I got into the right communities—where real affiliates were making money and sharing what was working. If you’re stuck, you don’t need another course—you need the right people in your circle.
Final Thought…
If you’re tired of spinning your wheels and not seeing results, it’s probably because one or more of these steps is missing from your business. Trust me, I learned the hard way, and I don’t want you to make the same mistakes I did.
