I couldn’t wait to start orchestra in 4th grade. And for the first two years, I loved everything about it.
But by 6th grade, things changed.
More was expected, and solos were part of the picture. I was more visible and could no longer hide behind the safety of being a beginner.
And inside, I was struggling. A lot!
On the rare occasion that I was brave enough to share my struggles, the advice I got was the kind that’s still common today:
- "It’s okay to be anxious. It just means you care."
- "You’ll get used to it as you perform more."
- "Just do it scared, you’ll be okay."
That advice wasn’t wrong, but it also wasn’t adequate.
I needed better tools, and since I didn't have them...
it eventually led me to quit.
That’s why this work matters so much to me now.
Far too many performers are suffering from performance anxiety more than they need to.
As a master certified coach with over 10,000 sessions, I’m here to provide the simple but powerful tools that truly help.
